Exciting Christmas Offerings at Mel's Marvellous Cakes

It's been such a busy week! We're still recovering from jet lag, but there's no rest for us. We dove straight into serving our cream teas at Ripley Farmer's Market. We've also received several inquiries about the cakes we have available for Christmas orders, along with a few customers interested in our cozy afternoon teas.

So, first things first: here is what we have on offer in the lead-up to Christmas.

Upcoming Events

You may also be interested to know where we'll be over the next few months. We will be at Ripley Farmer's Market on December 13th. Additionally, we will be at Woking Community Centre providing a pop-up café for the car boot sale and the Rowbarge shopping day on November 27th. Keep an eye on my Instagram page and Events page for updates.

In January, we'll be taking a break. This will give us a chance to update the caravan. The floor really needs fixing, and we need to drain the boiler and install a bigger sink. Again, we'll share these updates on Instagram.

Our Delicious Christmas Cakes

So, the cakes available for Christmas orders are:

• Christmas Fruit Cake: Made as individual cakes or large cakes, this is a rich fruit cake with fruit peel and glacé cherries. Each cake is covered in almond marzipan and fondant icing, individually decorated with a fondant Christmas design. Prices range from £15-40.

  
  

• Yule Log: A dark chocolate sponge filled with milk chocolate buttercream, rolled into the traditional log design, and decorated with holly. This cake serves 6 and is priced at £20.

  
  

• Christmas Battenburg: A firm favorite at MMC, this cake features a light green and red chequered almond sponge filled with homemade raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. It's covered with pink marzipan and seasonal edible flowers, serving 8 people for £30.

  
  

• Mince Pies: Individual shortcrust pastry pies filled with homemade vegan mincemeat made with rich fruit and nuts, topped with an orange slice. Priced at £10 for 4.

  
  

All cakes can be made vegan or gluten-free if required. They can be delivered locally or collected at Ripley Farmer’s Market on December 13th.
