My Story
This is a story of vintage crockery and a vintage caravan: bought for different purposes, the crockery and the caravan came together to form Mel’s Marvellous Teashop.
I am Mel and in 2008, when my children were very small, we rescued our 1980’s caravan from a field in Manchester where it had been neglected for many years. It came with us on our travels around Cornwall and we pitched her proudly alongside the gigantic and more modern caravans.

Eventually, as the children grew, the caravan again sat unused, sad and lonely on the driveway. That was until I met my lovely husband Mike in 2012 and he agreed to turn my beloved caravan into a vintage tea shop.
We both had busy jobs and had previously provided a pop-up tea shop on a casual basis in various venues; however, it wasn’t until lockdown in 2020 that we had the time to completely renovate the blue caravan.
Our teashop made its debut on a sunny day at a summer fair in May 2021 and we haven’t looked back.
