Mel's Marvellous Cakes' delicious vintage afternoon teas are all handmade to order. We can cater and serve your sandwiches, scones, and cakes along with carefully chosen teas and coffee at your home or party venue. Alternatively we can deliver your food as an afternoon tea box to your door.
For our catered afternoon tea parties, we'll serve you using our vintage crockery, cake stands, and props. You can choose from various menu options and we can even serve it all from our pastel-blue vintage caravan. Just bring your guests - we'll take care of the rest (and that includes the washing up).
If you choose our delivered afternoon tea boxes we'll deliver to your door - it's an indulgent homemade treat without the stress of making it yourself.
We also hire out our vintage caravan and vintage crockery for when you want to create your own vintage tea party but don't need our catering.
Mel's Marvellous Cakes is based in Woking, Surrey, and we serve the surrounding areas too. We can cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary requirements: just ask.

If you're throwing a party, our vintage afternoon teas make a traditional afternoon tea experience - and your party - even more special.
Our sweet and savoury treats - sandwiches, scones, and cakes - are all homemade to order for you. We serve a carefully curated selection of loose-leaf teas and freshly ground coffee and do all the work before, during, and after your afternoon tea party (no baking, sourcing authentic crockery, or washing up!).
We'll bring vintage props - think beautiful tea pots, cake stands, and crockery. We can even supply tablecloths to transform your home, garden, or hired venue.
We can serve everything from our pastel blue caravan depending on your event space and the package you choose. It's been transformed into a mini kitchen with a 5 food hygiene rating and really looks the part.
Hire our Vintage Crockery
Our vintage crockery is available to hire for your next afternoon tea party or vintage-styled event.
We have over 100 authentic crockery place settings and around 30 teapots. We match them by colour and theme and can supply and match your crockery for you into place settings.
We've got everything from side plates, large plates, tea cups, saucers, teapots, cake stands, platters, milk jugs, sugar bowls, tablecloths, napkins, and doilies, to, of course, knives, forks, and spoons.
You can choose one of our packages or just tell us exactly what you need and we'll supply it.
We deliver and collect our vintage crockery throughout Surrey and the surrounding areas. If you are further afield we can give you a quote.

We believe in sustainable practices and eating with the seasons so our afternoon tea box menus change according to the time of year. They are available for delivery in the Woking and Surrey area and are ideal as a gift or special treat.
All our afternoon teas are home baked and delivered to you by Mel herself. You don't need to worry about baking everything yourself or serving second-rate supermarket options: you get to enjoy it just as much as your guests.

Mel is the creative force behind Mel’s Marvellous Cakes - a self-taught baker with a serious knack for turning flour, sugar, and a bit of magic into edible works of art. From intricate celebration cakes to scones, Mel puts love (and a good dose of buttercream) into every single bake.
Based in Woking, Surrey and loved widely, she’s your go-to for party catering that tastes as amazing as it looks.
Mel’s also mad about all things vintage - bringing the charm with her beautiful crockery, quirky décor, and pastel-blue tea shop on wheels.
