We have some packages available but, whatever the occasion, we can also work with you to build your own bespoke package. Perhaps you are arranging a 70th or 80th birthday party for yourself or a special person. You could have the blue caravan parked on your drive serving tea and coffee or Pimms to your guests as they arrive. Your garden can become a vintage tea shop with decorated tables, vintage crockery and bunting strung from shrubs and trees. Imagine the afternoon tea treats loaded onto pretty cake stands: sandwiches, scones, cakes and clotted cream and jam. You could even finish off your event with some garden games. Simplici ' tea'
This is a lovely treat for two people but you can add more guests if you wish. We include delivery of freshly made scones, clotted cream, homemade jam, cakes and sandwiches and we are available for to wait on you for two hours. We will decorate your table with vintage tablecloths, napkins, cutlery and our beautiful crockery. Your tea will be served while you relax and chat with your guests. Deluxe Tea Party
We bring our vintage blue caravan, which is a 5 hygiene rated kitchen, to your event and prepare the tea inside the caravan. This package includes two hours hire and two members of staff. You then add your afternoon teas to the price of the package or choose to provide your own food. You can also choose to hire vintage crockery. Your guests can either come to the caravan for their tea or we can set up tables outside and serve your guests. If you decide to include afternoon tea we can cater for up to 40 people. Queen's Tea Party
This package includes hire of the blue caravan for 3 hours, two members of staff plus 10 afternoon teas and crockery hire for 10. Afternoon tea is a large, warm scone, clotted cream, homemade jam, cake, fruit and sandwiches and loose leaf tea and freshly ground coffee. Our tables are decorated with vintage tablecloths, crockery and cutlery. It's a great package for those special, intimate events where you would like everything managed for you so that you can relax with your guests. How it works
Mel's Marvellous Teashop is a mobile way to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.
With an oven in the van, scones are baked to order, fresh and hot. If you have a space to park our vintage caravan, we can bring it to you on our Deluxe and Queen's Tea Party packages.
The van is a mobile kitchen (registered with Woking Council as a 5-rated food business) and we specialise in making cream tea fresh to order.
We bring everything with us, clear up and take everything away with us (except your full bellies of course!). You can hire the van for two hours or more.
We arrive early to set up before your event and take about 30 minutes to clear up afterwards.
Catering
We have a menu of scones, cream, jam and a range of loose-leaf tea. Scone recipes include cheese, fruit and plain. Vegan and gluten-free are available and there may also be 'Scone of the Day' made with chocolate, fruit or home-grown and dried herbs, when available.
Scones can be served with clotted cream (dairy or vegan) and a choice of home-made jam. Cheese scones can be served with chilli jam or chutney. All scones come with a cup or a pot of loose-leaf tea.
As in all the best afternoon tea establishments, refills are complementary. We will also carry cold drinks in our fridge if desired. What's more, we love inventing. So, if you've got a penchant for a special type of scone, ask us and we'll give it a go.
We believe in supporting local businesses. The jam is either home-made with seasonal fruit or from Surrey based Jam-Packed Preserves. Our coffee is from Belle's Beans based in Woking. We buy our tea leaves from Tealicious. We pride ourselves in shopping locally and sourcing our food responsibly. You can view our Eco-Journey HERE
Vintage Crockery
The Blue Scone Van is available for parties, functions and events by the hour with a minimum of two hours. We have vintage china if you want that extra element of decadence - see our vintage crockery hire page for more information.
A deposit is requested to cover breakages and the hire costs start from 50 pence an item. We deliver the crockery to you and can, if required, set the tables for you and provide cotton napkins.
